Rosie recently visited us for a full dental procedure, and we’re happy to report she came through everything like a star.
Prior to her anaesthetic, her pre-GA bloods were all within normal limits, and she was carefully assessed and stabilised before the procedure. She received tailored sedation and a smooth general anaesthetic to keep her safe and comfortable throughout.
A routine scale and polish was performed on all teeth, and unfortunately 9 teeth needed to be extracted due to instability and/or advanced periodontal disease. She was given paracetamol for pain relief during the procedure, as NSAIDs were avoided due to her higher gastrointestinal risk which Rosie has been seeing vet Lou

ise for regularly.The best news? Rosie recovered beautifully at home. No vomiting or diarrhoea, no complications, and she’s been happily eating her soft diet (Purina HA mousse). She’s comfortable, bright, and back to her usual self 
She’ll continue:
Soft food for 7–10 days
Paracetamol twice daily as prescribed
Probiotics and gut support as needed
A post-op check around day 7
We’ll monitor closely for any signs of gastrointestinal flare, but so far she’s doing really well.
Rosie will be ready to gradually return to her normal routine around 10–14 days post-op, and we couldn’t be happier with her progress.
