Oska is a Finnish Lapphund who came into our clinic after ingesting his squeaky toy. Blood tests were normal, and X-rays showed the squeaker lodged in his small intestine.
Although it was not causing any blockages, the risk of it doing so in the future was high. His owner decided to operate while Oska was stable.
Our team carried out an exploratory surgery to remove the squeaker lodged in Oska’s intestine. Fortunately, the intestine was not damaged, and everything else looked healthy.
Oska is recovering well, and we are happy to sign him off. He even made it for his 3rd appearance at Crufts this year!
A word of caution to all the squeaky toy lovers out there. Those little squeakers can cause big problems! 💙
