Molly’s Story When Molly came to see Vet Sam with increased urinary frequency, initial urine testing suggested a urinary tract issue, and she was started on antibiotics. Despite repeat urine tests and continued treatment over the following weeks, Molly’s symptoms weren’t improving as expected.
Concerned that there may be an underlying cause, Vet Sam arranged a bladder scan and discussed the possibility of surgery. The scan revealed the reason behind Molly’s ongoing problems, her bladder was full of stones!
Molly underwent a cystostomy (bladder surgery), where an incredible over 500 bladder stones were removed, ranging in size from just 1mm to a staggering 20mm. 
At her post-operative check, Molly was doing brilliantly. She is urinating much more normally, eating and drinking well, and her surgical wound is healing beautifully. She was comfortable during her examination, with no pain detected on abdominal palpation, and the rest of her health check was normal.
Molly still has a little recovery ahead of her, but we’re delighted with her progress so far and are looking forward to seeing her continue to improve.
